Elizabeth George is a craftsman of language and weaving the tapestry of a tale.  It is fun to wander through her story as her characters challenge their own demons and solve the mysteries presented to them.  Unless she knew her characters intimately, she could not have them face the world around them successfully.  Her understanding gives her stories depth and color that is so lacking in many plain, bland, books that are simply a waste of time.

In Write Away, she provides insight in how to put stories and characters together.  She also provides glimpses of her own writing demons.  The book has been a great boon to me, getting me back on a writing track after a forty year break.
