Father starting up his Curtiss JN9
Grandfather in his Thomas Flyer
Antelope Carrier
(Work in Progress)
In this historical coming-of-age story called Antelope Carrier, it’s the last peaceful summer before the Great War, and MARSHALL FORBES is an ambitious Hotchkiss boarding school graduate more comfortable quoting poetry than confronting death. But on his way to his 1914 freshman year at Cornell, England declares war on Germany and Forbes and his friends want to be a part of it – if they can fly. They are convinced that aviation is the future of war and manhood alike. But before they can get ‘over there’, they have to meet the challenges of adolescence and first loves, learn to fly, and convince the government to form an air force. Then all they have to do is survive what they wished for.
